How does the SK99 water filter affect TDS/PPM in water?

TDS is not a professional way to test the water quality, TDS means total dissolved solids. For example, if you put very little salt(NaCl) into the water and test the TDS, you will find the result is dramatically high. The same thing, if your water is full of minerals, the TDS is very high too.

The SK99 doesn’t remove any of the minerals from water, it only stops heavy metals such as Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, and over 70-80 VOCs, and it removes greatly the chlorine from water. Therefore, it is the reason why the TDS you get is not that lower as you expect.

TDS meter testing method is widely used in reverse osmosis systems since the RO filter system also removes minerals from water. If a RO membrane doesn’t have a good performance, the TDS will be relatively high. And if TDS is getting much higher, means it’s time to change the RO membrane.

So please do not use TDS to test any water except Reverse Osmosis System, because the result is meaningless.

How often should the filter cartridges of SK99 be replaced?

About the service life of the filter cartridge for SK99, we would like to recommend you to change the 1st stage every 3-6 months, change the 2nd stage every 8-12 months and change the 3rd stage every 12-18 months. Please notice the service life depends on your water quality and daily usage. All the specification data of the flow capacity that is listed on the sticker is based on actual tests from the laboratory and its provided water.

Why water filter can not be used on well water?

This filter should be used in conjunction with municipally treated drinking water or water that has been properly disinfected before use. The water filter cartridge is manufactured with 0.5micron carbon (top rate) that will get easily clogged up by any type of dirt or settlement from a well.

How can I connect the SK99 filter system to the refrigerator/ice maker?

Is SK99-NEW a reverse osmosis system?

No. SK99-NEW is a direct-connect under sink water filter system, not a reverse osmosis system. It should be positioned around chlorine and chloramine reduction, fast main-faucet flow, and easy installation.

What does SK99-NEW focus on reducing?

SK99-NEW focuses on chlorine and chloramine reduction using compound activated carbon block filtration. This makes it suitable for municipal tap water where disinfectant taste and odor are common concerns.

Does SK99-NEW use a dedicated faucet?

No. SK99-NEW connects directly to the main kitchen faucet, which makes it different from SP99-NEW. I bought this to appease my wife. We for many years have solely used a 5 gallon water dispenser for drinking water. Our current house is on a well in town with decent water, but it doesn't taste great. I was a bit cynical when buying this not expecting much but I was wrong. Big, no, massive change in water quality. I can't say how it does with fluoride cuz again we are on a well, but in terms of general taste man this is awesome. I do have 1 slight criticism or recommendation for the manufacturer. I wish you guys provided an adapter to go down to a 1/4 compression fitting for our refrigerator setup. I had to replace my 1/4 water valve with a 3/8 to adapt to this because I couldn't find a reducer easily enough and didn't wanna wait for another Amazon order. So please include a 1/4 adapter and market this to plug into your refrigerator ice/water dispenser. Love it love it love it.

This filter system has been great. I was previously using a brita pitcher and this is on a completely different level. Water tastes sooooooooo much better than Brita water. In the first pitcher you can see that the system fits behind my trash disposal. In the second i am showing that it comes through the regular faucet. I have cold, filtered water for drinking and rinsing off fruits and vegetables, and warm water for doing dishes. This setup works very well, actually. The flow rate is a bit slower than without the filter, but it is not a problem. The water comes through looking perfectly clear in color. This filter does not remove the minerals like a reverse osmosis, but does remove a lot of toxins. This is a nearly set it and forget it setup, i have had no issues. I put it in about 6 months ago, and i am going to replace the first filter insert soon, although i have not noticed any degradation in taste. When i first hooked it up, i compared it to the brita and the water was soooooooooo much better. Highly recommended. I ended up getting a slightly better deal by ordering from the mfr directly on their website.

I used this to filter water for a plumed coffee nook, and it is very well made and makes some suitable water for pour-overs (it's no Third Wave packet into distilled water, but it's dang good for coming from the tap)! Make sure that you flush it for about 10 minutes to get any weird tastes out, but overall, I am very happy with it! Oh, and for any of my fellow handymen, make sure to use the included sticker template for hanging it on the wall (unlike myself, who did a LOT of unnecessary measuring and found it in the box afterward ???♂?).

Only complaint is there are no FLATS on the main S99 cartridge housings or hold knobs , indents, or rubber grip, to hold it when changing filters. You can only put the (way too short!) wrench on the bottom but then you have to hold a large round slippery housing with a cloth. Please add something for future design (too late for this one unless you ship rubber grip rings). I also wish there was a way to pre flush with DI water at the factory that could be dried) . Otherwise water tastes great, I have PFAS in town and this is one of the few rated for that.

For 10 years I used those one stage filters but they just didn’t change the base taste of my water. My installation took a little longer because of my older plumbing but once I figured out how to line everything up WOW. The filtration installations was pretty straight forward. My water test was great. When my mother and sister noticed the difference I knew it wasn’t a false positive. The smell and taste of the water was so different. It just tasted like water should taste, no salt or flavor that interferes with my regular beverages. Never live without FRIZZLIFE again.

Filter was delivered about an hour and a half ago and it installed just fine. Inlet hose allowed for choice of mounting location and there are two outlet hoses (16" or 32") with hose adapters. After the ten minute purge you could easily tell the difference in what our water used to taste like vs now. System is light weight and all I needed was an adjustable wrench, drill, and level (for mounting only, can install without). I'm fairly handy, but have faith that anyone could install this system. Can't wait to test the water purity and compare it to before. Would 100% buy again.

I purchased this filter system to use in my upstairs bathroom as that sink is used a lot for drinking, brushing, washing, etc. The existing water smelled metallic and tasted of metal and chlorine. Installing the filter took less than 10 min from laying out the parts to getting it under the sink connected. Add 10 extra min for flushing out the system. Water now taste slightly sweet (a sign of good minerals) and no longer smells of metals/chlorine.

I have to say the best part about my first Frizzlife unit was how easy it was to hookup.. Now with this new unit SK99 I'm Super excited how much more harmful things it will take out of the water. I do tons of research on these water filters and narrow it down each time to about 3 units. Trust me not having to call a plumber is a big deal.. The quickness of changing cartridges is also a plus.
