Is TDS meter an effective way to test water quality?

TDS meter is not an effective way to test water quality

TDS meter is an easy, cheap but NOT GOOD measure

What does TDS mean

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids, which comprises of inorganic salts and organic matter dissolved in the water. Put it simple, TDS is anything other than pure H2O in your water(WQP, 2008) TDS is usually expressed in terms of units of mg per litre of water (mg/L) or parts per million (ppm).

The Reason Why TDS is a poor measure for your water quality

As introduced above, TDS is anything other than H2O, it seems that the lower the TDS level is, the cleaner the water. Is that really the case?

TDS is not an effective way to measure water quality

Reason: Essential minerals are also picked up by TDS meter, including  calcium, potassium and much more.

However, these health-benefiting elements should not be the issues that downgrade the water quality.

You will see bottled mineral water has high TDS level, can you directly judge all of these branded water on the supermarket shelves as undrinkable water?

When TDS is an effective measure?

When comes to Reverse Osmosis water, TDS meter is an effective to measure the quality of RO membrane. This is because RO water almost gets rid of all dissolved solids.

Frizzlife Filtration Technology

Frizzlife adopts unique technology that can remove over 99.99% of contaminants while leaving all essential minerals in your water, such as calcium, potassium and so on. In other words, Frizzlife selectively filter out those harmful contaminants but remain those health-benefiting minerals in your water. Therefore, this is the reason why you cannot get a very low TDS from filtered water (if your Frizzlife unit is not RO system).
